We all know about the big players in the makeup industry but what about the many makeup brands owned by Black British women? We have quite a few great brands to choose from and we have listed 11 Black-owned British makeup brands.

MDMflow

MDMflow is owned by the twenty-something cosmetic scientist Florence Adepoju. Florence, otherwise known as Flo, draws her inspiration from 90s-00s hip-hop culture which is perfectly exhibited in glamorous black and gold packaging.

Lip balms and lipsticks in unexpected colours are the MDMflow trademark and you can also get your classic red and gorgeous nude-tones too. The Baume Flow Balms can be used anywhere you want a hint of colour or a glossy shine.

V.Lace

V.Lace was launched in 2017 by Vanessa W-Brobbey. All products are formulated with vitamin E, shea butter and natural oils to help improve the appearance of hyper-pigmentation The liquid lipsticks are designed to stay put even after eating and drinking and both the lipsticks and the eyeshadows are extremely pigmented.

Afunkie

Inspired by the drive to provide high-quality products for low prices, Afunkie was launched. The brand wants women to highlight their beauty and empower them by building self-esteem through an extensive range of fun, easy-to-use and unique products.

Pat McGrath Labs

Although Pat McGrath Labs is technically an American company, it is owned by the visionary British makeup artist Pat McGrath MBE. Affectionately known as 'Mother' within the fashion industry, she has been proclaimed to be 'the most influential makeup artist in the world'. Her creativity and innovation over the decades have been encapsulated in luxurious packaging which simply begs to be played with.
