What's In My Makeup Bag

Paula Sutton is a content creator, writer and interior stylist who possess one of the most picturesque Instagram feed called Hill House Vintage. Her pictures display her country lifestyle in Norfolk which has seen her amass thousands of followers over the last few months. She took time out to show me the products in her makeup bag.

Describe the items in your makeup bag.

My MAC Red Lipstick in Ruby Woo. Red lipstick gives me life. It makes me feel fully 'dressed' and glamorous whatever I'm wearing or doing that day - even if I'm only going out to walk the dog.

A MAC Felt Tip Wing Eyeliner and an Estee Lauder Double Wear Liquid Wing Eyeliner. I’ve always been into the style and fashion photography of the 1950's and 1960's. I love the polished winged eyeliner look that was popular during those times.  As I've aged, my eyes have started to seem smaller, and less vibrant so adding the eyeliner makes them stand out more and refocuses the attention back onto the 'windows' of my face.

Various blushers such asMAC Raizin and Bobbi Brown Pink. I always wear a bit of blush as it gives me a healthy glow and adds a much needed bit of contour to my face.  My face can look round and a bit pudding-like if I don't have blusher on - haha!

MAC Lip Pencil in Spice - I only use this if I'm going 'out out' to give me longer lasting definition.

MAC False Lashes Extreme Black Mascara - Once again to make my eyes 'pop' and not fade!

Bobbi Brown Mini Concealer Stick in Golden - I've never worn foundation, but I do like to dab a bit of concealer here and there to hide any blemishes and to conceal dark areas under my eyes.

Margaret Dabbs London Hand Lotion which smells of geranium and mandarin - divine.

Which is your favourite item in your makeup bag?

Definitely my red lipstick. If I only had one thing on a desert island then lipstick would be it.  At least then I could use it for my lips and as a bit of blush.

Where did you get your makeup bag?

My makeup bag is an old khaki coloured Prada one that I received as a present several years ago.  It’s made of nylon and is a bit battered, but it's served me well over the years and has been very durable.
