I have combination skin which means that I am often ‘dewy’ by the end of the day but my skin is also dehydrated. This means that I am always on the lookout for products which hydrate my skin without leaving me greasy. Hyaluronic acid products are great for this so La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Intense Serum sounded like the perfect product for me.
La Roche Posay is a well-regarded French Pharmacy brand which really focuses on problem solving so my expectations were high. Hydraphase has a gel texture which is cool on your skin and contains their thermal water. It is absorbed quickly by your skin and leave it matte and ready for moisturisers. As well as Hyaluronic acid, there are amino acids to amplify the hydration properties, however, this Serum also contains mineral oil. For me this is a deal breaker as I am careful not to use this ingredient on my face.
Mineral oil is an inert oil so if you have sensitive skin you are unlikely to react to it. In this product is is very refined so it is unlikely to cause blackheads but my personal choice is not to incorporate it into my skincare regime. That said, I have tested this product thoroughly and it is a good one but to be honest there are other hyaluronic acid serums that I prefer.
La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Intense Serum is priced at £19.99.
