Liz Earle’s multi award-winning Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser is probably the single hot cloth cleanser which needs no introduction. Having heard so many positive words about this plant-based cleanser, I was keen to put this to the test myself.
In a nutshell, this product promises to remove makeup and daily impurities, leaving your skin clean, soft and radiant. It is gentle enough to use everyday, as part of your daily cleansing ritual, yet offers concentrated cleansing power for a thorough cleanse. It contains active ingredients such as eucalyptus and cocoa butter, which help to achieve smoother, cleaner skin.
What I find unusual (but pleasant) about this cleanser is its cream consistency and format- most cleansers are liquid-y and are thus messy to apply. To use this cleanser you simply need to massage a pump or two of the cream cleanser onto your face and neck area. This makes up the first phase of the product – the ‘cleanse’. The creamy texture is able to quickly remove makeup and impurities.
The second part of the dual-phase action is the ‘polish’, where you use the pure muslin cloth – which is included – to wipe off the cream and dead skin cells, to reveal the clean, soft and radiant skin promised. The cloth should be wet and then wrung.
After using the Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, I followed it up with moisturiser, there is no real need for the use of a toner since the cleanser does a thorough job of removing all traces of makeup and build-up.
After using this for a few weeks as part of my cleansing regime, I have found my complexion to have an added bout of dewiness and radiance, due to the clarity that the product provides. I can’t wait to see what continued use of it will achieve for my previously lacklustre complexion.
Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser is priced at £15.50 for the starter kit which includes the Muslin Cloth.
