Various factors can lead to cellulite and reducing the appearance of it requires dedication. More women suffer than men because we have higher oestrogen levels which is linked to the elasticity of our connective tissues. I understand that when the elasticity is reduced, it can lead to the lumpy appearance of cellulite. It’s worth mentioning that cellulite has nothing to do with your weight – anyone can have it. I’ll also mention that is it less noticeable on darker skin which means I don’t focus on it that often but I know it is there and sometimes it’s presence does get to me.
To help us tackle cellulite and achieve smoother skin, Weleda has created their organic Birch Cellulite Oil. It is 100% natural with no artificial preservatives or additives. The oil is formulated to tone and firm the skin and tackle the dimples on your hips and thighs. It’s only the cellulite on my thighs that I worry about. I don’t think I have any on my hips.
The key ingredient is organic silver birch from the Czech Republic. The birch leaves contains flavonoids which are used to tackle the toxins that linger in the enlarged fat cells (which we see as cellulite) and restore radiance. I’m all for products the restore radiance.
The oil also contains rosemary extract to stimulate circulation and root extract of butcher’s broom (Mediterranean Ruscus aculeatus) to tone. Apricot oil and wheatgerm oils smooth your skin and jojoba is included to refine your skin’s texture. In my opinion, that is a lovely blend of oils and it smells quite nice too.
You are supposed to see improvements after a couple of months but I didn’t have a large enough sample. However, I did enjoy using it and it did make me look after an otherwise neglected area which does need attention. I can see that this product could be helpful in reducing the appearance of cellulite because it makes you focus on it. Work needs to be put in to massage away those dimples. My favourite part is the warming sensation as it feels like I’m really doing something!
Weleda Birch Cellulite Oil is priced at £21.95 and is suitable for vegans.
