Alchemy Grapefruit Hair Remedy

I love using natural organic oils on my natural hair. I use them because my hair is colour treated and I’m prone to dry scalp. The oils aid in my hair styling, moisture retention and keeping my scalp healthy. I’ve been using the same tried and true oils for months, so, I was eager to try something new. Although I was happy to trial Alchemy Grapefruit Hair Remedy part of me felt a bit dubious.

Would it make my colour treated hair dry? Citrus can be drying can’t it? However, from all that I’d read about the product stated it could be used on dry damaged hair. I tried it and I’ve been so happy with the results and it’s now one of my regular go to oils. Alchemy’s Grapefruit Hair Remedy makes my hair shiny, bouncy and helps to seal in moisture. It is made up of five oils: Grapefruit Oil; Coconut, Avocado, Almond and Castor Oil. With the exception of the grapefruit, I’ve used those oils in rotation with my hair to excellent results. Together, these five oils have come together to make a luxurious rich oil with a fragrance that’s so enriching. It’s like aromatherapy and haircare in one.

I’ve been using this product for one month mainly as a sealant after washing my hair. However for my first trial, I used it as a pre-shampoo treatment; I applied it to dry hair and wrapped my oil saturated hair in plastic and left it for 45 minutes. When the time was up I shampooed and conditioned my hair as usual. To towel dried hair that already had styling gel I applied more Grapefruit Hair Remedy from mid strand to ends of my hair and styled as usual. The result was amazing, my hair looked and felt fuller, bouncy and silky soft.

The second time I used the Alchemy Remedy I applied it to freshly washed and conditioned damp hair, after my usual curl setting product. I tend to apply the oil from midway down the hair to the ends mainly to avoid weighing down my hair too much because the strands are fine. I then styled as usual. I had great results again; shiny bouncy curls with minimum frizz.

Since my initial trials, I now use this amazing product as part of my hair styling process. I love the oil too much to wash it out. It can be used as an overnight treatment but I didn’t use it in this way - for health reasons I don’t do overnight hair treatments. Occasionally, I apply it to my dry hair mid-week for moisture and shine. I’ve noticed including it as part of my regime, my hair appears fuller and I’m very pleased about that result more than anything else because I’ve been struggling for years to gain more volume. I would say this oil is a good all-rounder and it fights dandruff too. This product would work wonders on any hair type. It has many uses and the consistency is perfection.
