Clinique’s Superbalanced Silk Foundation is the sister product to the Superbalanced Foundation, but this is said to be more suited to those with dry combination to oily skin types. It also has the added benefit of SPF15. Superbalanced Silk makeup offers a silk-enriched, oil-free, fragrance - free foundation with sheer to moderate coverage that feels lightweight on the skin, it controls oil while providing hydration where needed.

This foundation protects the skin with an SPF15 and has a natural matte finish, it comes in 20 shades with at least five shades suitable for brown beauties, I have the shade (18) Silk Sable and there are two shades after this. It’s housed in a small glass bottle with no pump, its paraben, sulphate and phthalate free.

I have used this foundation on numerous occasions since I received it, it offers a good medium to full coverage. The first time I used it I was shocked at how much coverage it gave me, I applied the usual amount I do with most of my base products, and essentially got almost full coverage. Now I apply much less than usual, and get a nice light to medium coverage, which is what I prefer for day-to-day looks.

But it doesn’t take much to build this up to moderate to full coverage for a flawless finish, that is not heavy or cakey on the skin. I’m not sure how a foundation can differentiate between the dry and oily parts of the skin, but for my fellow combination skin girls this offers a nice medium between oil control and hydration which is great during the cooler seasons. It lasted well on my combination skin, when applied over oil-free skincare (so no facial oils), with minimal need for touch-ups. 

If you are in the market for a new foundation, with medium to full coverage that lasts well on the skin, then I would definitely consider this one.
