Is BeautyPie brown beauty Friendly?

As a beauty editor, I really don’t need any more beauty products so I never paid BeautyPie any attention when they launched a few years ago. However, when I was gifted a free three month membership after attending the 12 Days of Beauty event, decided to try it out.

What is BeautyPie?

BeautyPie is the first luxury beauty product buyers club. It was created by beauty boss, Marcia Kilgore who brought us Bliss, Remède, Soap & Glory and Soaper Duper. She started the brand in order to give beauty lovers access to shop from the world’s best labs but at purse friendly prices.

How does it work?

BeautyPie works on a membership basis which is a minimum of three months. There are different memberships at different prices which determines how much you can spend each month. For instance the £5 membership allows you to spend £50 per month and the £10 membership gives you £100 worth of products. If you do not spend your allowance then it rolls over to the next month.

Your membership is flexible; you can cancel after three months and you can increase your membership value from £5 a month to £50 a month. The important thing to remember is that while you pay membership prices which gives you around 50% off the retail price - your allowance is based on the typical prices.

Where are the products made and why are they so cheap?

The products are made in top labs all over the world and sent direct from the factory to you. BeautyPie take out all the packaging, retail costs so you are only paying for the products.

What was it like?

I decided to play it safe by ordering skincare and some lip products.  I ordered the Double Phase Daily Deep Rinse-Off Facial Cleanser, Japanfusion™ Pure Transforming Cleanser, Wondergel Long Wear Lip Liner, Super Moisture Lip Balm, Super Healthy Skin, Deluxe Moisture Body Crème and Plantastic, Nourishing Shea Butter Hand Cream

The ordering process was very smooth, with regular updates and I received my products over a week later. The products arrive in a lovely pink box all nicely wrapped. Even though they operate on a no trims policy I have to admit that the look and feel of the products are very stylish.

However, it is the quality of the products that impressed me. The skincare is top notch and works effectively and the lip pencils are divine and last all day. Well worth every penny. The downside I would point out are the complexion products such as the foundations and concealers which are limited in shade and do not cater for darker skin tones. So for Black and Asian women I would advice you to stick to the skincare, bodycare and lip products.
