Curly By Nature creates and distributes its own brand of luxury natural hair care treatments such as Hair Repair Oil, Moisturising Shampoo, Intensive Conditioning Mask and Nourishing Gloss Balm. They also offer expert hair care advice for women with all types of curly hair. The brand was founded last year by Klerissa McDonald and she took time to tell us about Curly By Nature.

What made you decide to set up your own beauty business?

I always knew that I wanted to work for myself and healthy hair is my passion. Before I set up my business there was no british brand dedicated to all types of genetically curly hair that was also passionate about quality 100% natural ingredients. I wanted to offer high quality hypoallergenic haircare products that simply work.

What is the concept behind Curly By Nature?

Our company was formed on the premise that every individual and their hair, is uniquely beautiful and wonderfully made. We believe that individuals should have the freedom to embrace and creatively express themselves. We believe that everyone deserves the right to pursue and attain their own full potential of truly healthy and stylish hair. We created Curly By Nature for all hair types with curls in its DNA. Our products and services are suitable for all ethnicities & curl patterns. Our treatments and advice are specifically tailored for your curls whether it’s locked, kinky, curly, wavy, relaxed or straightened.

Our goal is to guide many people into discovering the luxury and love of achieving and maintaining ultimate healthy and stylish hair through our simple healthy hair care methods and our natural hypoallergenic products. How did you decide on the look and feel of the brand?

I knew why I wanted to start the business and I know that this had to be communicated throughout the logo. This is the reason for the logo being a DNA helix. It is reflective that curls are in your DNA but at the same time it represents nature which I feel is very strong.

What are your future plans for Curly By Nature?

Curly By Nature will be instrumental in changing the whole face of the hair care industry and contributing to important developments in the industry in the UK and Globally.

What advice do you have for anyone who wants to set up their own beauty business?

Be sure to stay true to yourself. Understand exactly why you would want to start a business and stay focused on this. Surround yourself with people who will build you up and research diligently before you start.
