How To Look Like A Baddie While WFH
Now that working from home aka WFH is practically the norm this gives you more quality time.
However there are some times when you need to make an effort and put your best face forward by slapping on some makeup. We caught up with four women who shared their makeup looks while WFH.
Karen Tippet is the founder of Tippet PR
My makeup look when WFH is simple, low key but polished and screen adapted. I prepare for Zoom calls by using offline normal preparation as for any meeting. I’ve added an LED ring light next to my laptop and positioned my background to be my client shelfie: Ultrasun and SkinSense (makes it easy for me to walk over in shot to grab samples when useful)
I use Skincare+Base in one in the form of Ultrasun Face Tinted Anti-pigmentation SPF50+. It gives a peachy glow, heavy duty skincare actives, UVA & UVB protection (ready for my lunchtime walk) and the iron oxides in the tint help to mitigate blue light exposure.
Then I have a “go to” make up trio which are Charlotte Tilbury Eye Cheat in Beige - an instant eight hours sleep trick, Beauty Pie Super Luminous Undereye Genius, bit of colour correction – times are tiring and Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Calypso Coral – on cheeks and lips – a slightly neon pop of colour that suits my skin tone (and makes me feel pulled together.
I emphasise my lips as it gives me confidence in feeling polished when times are so strange. It also shows respect to my Zoom guest that I’ve made the effort and I am focused on the time they’ve kindly scheduled with me.

I generally only wear makeup when I have meetings which now are about twice a month. Whereas before COVID I was wearing makeup to the office everyday.
My makeup look at home is a "no makeup, makeup" look which mainly focuses on covering Hyperpigmentation, eyebrows filled in and a bit of lip gloss. The areas I empathise on are my eyes, lips and cheeks. I usually prepare for Zoom calls 10 to 20 minutes beforehand. I make sure I have a work appropriate top, makeup on and that my wig is on straight lol.
The products I use are Estée Lauder Double Wear, Too Faced Concealer, Fenty Beauty, NYX Eyebrow Pencil and Fenty Beauty Lip Gloss. I rarely put on mascara at home but if I do it's a clear one from NYX.

I only wear makeup when I have a meeting scheduled. Then I put on a nice top and do what I would describe as a minimalistic, natural inspired and effortless (makeup look. I use The Ordinary High Spreadable Primer, Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear, NARS Creamy Concealer, Clinique Stay Matte Sheer Pressed Powder and Kitoko Makeup Vera Lipstick.
I slightly contour using the Ofala shade in the Juvia’s Place Festival palette, I use the Izafa colour for my rouge. I also use the Mino shade from the Juvia’s Warrior palette for my contouring. I also add some fabulous lashes when needed.
The areas I empathise on are always my lips. I use a bright red lipstick for beauty related meetings, Kitoko Makeup - Vera Lipstick and a darker plum Kitoko Makeup Lipstick in Akwaaba shade for all other related meetings. I've got massive fashionable shaped glasses. They are an accessory on their own. So a dark lip helps me make a statement whilst still be my authentic self.

My makeup look is pretty basic. I definitely go for a slight contour to highlight my cheekbones and nose. I love to emphasise my makeup around my eyes since I still breastfeed my baby at night. Sometimes I get eye bugs when I wake so I use makeup to conceal them.
Also I love my lipgloss - it’s my go-to thing - I love a glossy lip. I use NARS and after trying hard to find the shades I love that brand. I was gifted Fenty Beauty which I cannot wait to try as I read a lot of good reviews about it.
