My Top Five brownbeauty Makeup Artists - Denise Rabor
London Fashion Week kicks off today and the city will go into meltdown while the style brigade go gaa gaa over the latest trends, celeb sitings, launches and endless parties. But while fashion is the sole focus during the next five days, beauty has an integral part to play in order for the event to be a huge success.
From collaborating with designers, to donating products for the goodie bags, it will be the makeup artists who create the looks that are seen on the models that accentuate the theme of the collections. Denise Rabor, is a renowned makeup artist who has worked with the likes of Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, ELLE and Vanity Fair. This year she launched WOW Beauty which is a platform that celebrates the beauty of diversity. She took time out to tell us about her Top Five brownbeauty Makeup Artists.
In the world of fashion and beauty where there are so many talented makeup artists, it can be difficult to identify some of the most gifted: my top five includes a global makeup superstar as well as some other makeup stars who really represent makeup diversity.
Number 1 on my list is the phenomenally creative Pat McGrath MBE, who has been at the top of her game for years, creating makeup history for the biggest fashion brands. She has worked with the top designers and photographers and is highly regarded because of her immense talent and wide range.
Ruby Hammer has always been a favourite; she creates beautiful makeup and is a lovely person. She has had an amazing career and is one of the first makeup artists to have their own range.
A celebrity favourite, well known in the states for his flawless makeup, Sam honed his craft by starting out in department stores on the makeup counters. He’s been a spokesperson for Revlon and Cover Girl plus he's produced a great book and video.
She may not be a household name but Ashunta has been honing her craft in the states for many years: She is popular with celebrities but she also does real women. She has a product range that is for all ethnicities and she started it to cater for women's skin discolouration issues.
He is famously known for his work with Beyoncé. More recently he's become L'Oreal Paris's celebrity makeup artist, which means that he'll also have a say in product formulation.
