The Beauty Product I Cannot Live Without - YolanDa Brown

YolanDa Brown is an award-winning saxophonist who has spent several years on the jazz circuit as a soloist and touring with some of the biggest names in music. She is about to embark on a nationwide tour called Reggae Love Songs where she will be joined by will be special guest performers including Lemar, Omar, Mica Paris and Destiny's Child’s Michelle Williams.

I can’t live without Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. It’s the product that just keeps giving and works for everything. It’s a fantastic moisturiser for my hair. I remember first finding the oil when starting my hair journey and now that I have recently transitioned to natural it leaves my hair really soft and hydrated. I quickly found that my skin loves Extra Virgin Coconut Oil and I use it especially when on tour and before going on stage for a nice glow.

It’s great to use on the beach also, and I always have some in a container when in hot countries to stay moisturised. Since having my daughter I find that it also works wonders on her skin and hair and is a great oil to cook with, healthy and very tasty. My skin is quite sensitive to make up and I find that the tiniest bit of Extra Virgin Coconut Oil after washing and cleansing my face has worked better than any face cream and makes a good base for my foundation. (a very small amount) I love that it is not heavy or greasy and works great as a lip balm also – very important for a saxophonist.

I don’t go anywhere without Extra Virgin Coconut Oil and am continually finding new uses for it. I am in love with the Vita Coco brand, it’s cold pressed, organic and 100% raw. The smell, taste and consistency is amazing and I buy the biggest jar and dispense it in the various containers around my home, in my bags and saxophone cases.

YolanDa Brown’s Reggae Love Songs Tour kicks off today and will end with an extra London date on 15th November at The Barbican. For more information, please visit her website.
