What's In My Makeup Bag - Georgina Fihosy

Georgina Fihosy is a blogger as well as a creative entrepreneur behind Special Touch Designs, which is an African Inspired greeting cards company that seeks to celebrate the diversity of the UK. She came up with the idea last year while she was on maternity leave as a way to feed her creativity while showcasing her Nigerian heritage and culture. She took time out to show us the beauty products in her makeup bag. Describe the items in your makeup bag. Everyday my makeup bag typically screams “Product Junkie, I can’t take much more” and I am constantly in continuous battle with the zipper. I never know what to carry around with me and so I end up carrying everything. So here goes:

I always have a liquid foundation and a compact; at the moment I’m in love with Guerlain Tenue de Perfection Foundation and MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation. I tend to mix the two as that gives a shade that’s just right for me. I like to use AJ Crimson Foundation as a concealer and highlighter, I find that I only need to use a little of this product to cover up my blemishes and it works well underneath my foundation.

I was not blessed with full Beyonce style eyebrows, so I can’t leave the house without an eyebrow kit. I’ve tried a few, but I have to say the Sleek Makeup Brow Kitin dark is my go-to product. It comes with shaping wax, setting powder, mini tweezers and angle and blending brushes. I find the brushes a little small but the product it self is fabulous and compact.

I also carry a Sleek Makeup Face Form Contour Kit, it’s really versatile and I use it for highlighting and contouring but for me it also doubles up as an eye shadow pallet too. I spend so much on makeup products that I need to ensure value for money.

I have a true weakness for lipsticks and like to experiment with a range of colours; I like hot pinks, deep reds and nudes and love the Sleek True Colour range. I almost have all the colours but my favourites are Mystic, which is a gorgeous purple, Dare, a deep red and Naked, which is a nude colour.

I am never without black eyeliner and I actually picked up a great one from my local supermarket by Binky London. Other items include Mary Kay NouriShine Lip Gloss,MAC Powder Blush in Desert Rose and Raizin, Fashion Fair Eyeshadow in Touch of Goldand Guerlain Maxi Lash Mascara.

Which is your favourite item in your makeup bag? It has to be my MAC Lip Liner in Chestnut, I wear it almost everyday and it looks great under a pink lipstick. Sometime I’ll wear it on its own and blend it with my Mary Kay LipGloss and I am good to go.

Where did you get your makeup bag? I’ve had my make up bag for about three years. It means a lot to me because I actually won it at a charity auction for a charity I work closely with called Relieve and Care. We support children in West African countries who are suffering from the devastating affects of cancers and kidney diseases. All the money raised does directly to the hospitals to provide chemotherapy and dialysis so when I look at my makeup back I’m reminded of the children we have helped.
