What's In My Makeup Bag - Kenny Olapade

Kehinde Abeebat is a natural hair, beauty and lifestyle blogger and YouTuber who also goes by the name as Kenny Olapade. She is based in Scotland and uses her platforms to share her experience as a mother, my natural hair journey, care and tips, skincare tips, makeup tips, products reviews and DIYs. She took time out to show us the products in her makeup bag.

Describe the items in your makeup bag

All the products I have in my makeup bag are from the drugstore. I love affordable makeup products that are readily available in the United Kingdom and work well with my dark skin tone. Brands like L’Oreal, Rimmel and Makeup Revolution dominate my makeup bag.

Complexion

My complexion products vary with the season. For instance, during Spring and Summer, I go for long-lasting oil-controlling products. Right now, it’s Autumn, so I use lightweight hydrating base products because my skin is usually dry with textures.

L’Oreal Infallible Mattifying Base, - which is a silicone primer to provide a smooth base

L’Oreal True Match Foundation (10W Rich Golden) - it’s a lightweight hydrating foundation that doesn’t cling to my dry patches and gives a beautiful luminous skin-like finish.

L’Oreal True Match Concealer (7C/R) - like the foundation is also a lightweight hydrating concealer and doesn’t crease.

Makeup Revolution Banana Powder - to set my highlighted areas. It’s dark skin friendly and doesn’t give white cast in flash photography

Black Opal Deluxe Finishing Powder (Dark) - is the most dark skin friendly setting powder I have ever used. It’s lightweight and gives a luminous finish to my makeup.

Makeup Revolution Oil Control Fixing Spray - to set my makeup, remove the powdery look and hydrate my skin.

Cheek

Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Bronzer in Rock on World - is my favourite highlighter; it’s subtle and natural. I mix the two blushes in the Sleek Blush Palette in Sugar to add colour to my cheeks.

Eyes

As you can see my eyeshadow palette; the Juvia’s Place Nubian 2 Eyeshadow Palette is all beat up due to continuous usage. My most used colours are the ones I’ve hit pan. I do mostly matte neutral eye looks with or without false lashes/eyeliner and nude waterline. I use the L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara and Super Liner Eyeliner Precise. Also, Rimmel Eye Brow Pencil and Nude Liner for the waterline.

Lips

Nude glossy lips are my go to. I use the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lipstick in Be My Baby and Makeup Revolution Clear Gloss.

Which is your favourite item in your makeup bag?

My favourite item in my makeup bag is the L’Oreal True Match Foundation. It gives me the most natural, radiant even base.

Where did you get your makeup bag from?

The bag came with a Gucci perfume and I love how simple and spacious it is. It makes it the perfect makeup bag. I’ve had it for about six months now.
