My Skincare Life - Janet Adetunji

Janet Adetunji works as a Change Manager at a global insurance firm. She is also a skincare lover and took time out to tell me about her skincare regime.

I first came across skincare in secondary school with everyone’s beloved St Ives. It was all I knew so I used this invigorating scrub all through school. When I was younger my mum loved a bit of Mary Kay and Avon but that didn’t really influence me because I thought her taste was a bit too expensive for me. So Instagram and my friends became my biggest skinfluencers.

In my teens I used to use the whole range of Simple. What I I learnt during my teen years was that I was too rough on my skin. I didn’t take the time to really understand what was causing my breakouts or oiliness. For example during summer if my skin became oily I would skip moisturiser because I thought it was making me greasy and causing breakouts. Also I believed my GP who told me my rashes were due to allergies when that was far from the case.

Over the years my skincare regime has become more targeted to keeping my skin nourished, hydrated and glowey. It’s still trail and error for the perfect routine but I’m really enjoying it.

The skincare products I use is very long but a staple in my routine is the Crystal Retinal from Medik8 and Paula’s Choice Youth Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid.
