Nov 3 Bobbi Brown Sandstone Shimmer Brick

One of Bobbi Brown's best-selling products is the iconic Shimmer Brick, and Sandstoneis a new limited edition brick that has been added to the collection. Housed in a beautiful smokey tortoiseshell compact, Sandstone contains five stunning strips of colour including champagne, gold, bronze, rose gold and a darker brown. The colours are designed to give your cheeks a wash of warm, sandy pink colour and the beauty of the Bobbi Brown bricks is that each strip of colour can be either used individually, swirled together to apply as a blush or highlighter and also applied as an eyeshadow To use all colours together, I found that it was easiest to apply using a fan brush, which I swept through all the shades and then dusted it lightly over the top of my cheekbones. I also swept it down on the bridge of my nose and just above my cupids bow to really highlight where the light would naturally hit my face.

I found that on my skin tone (which is a warm chocolate colour for reference), the four darkest shades worked together beautifully as a highlight but when I combined with the champagne colour, it was a little to shimmery for me. However, the champagne colour works perfectly to bring some light to my inner tear duct or to highlight underneath my brow bone. Layered over a blush the darkest shade and the rose gold give a gorgeous dimensional and radiant effect to my cheeks.

Extremely versatile, I also enjoy using each individual strip as an eyeshadow as they are the perfect colours for an easy day wear or combined, buffed and smoked out for a more dramatic look in the evening. The colours are extremely pigmented so I found it was better to start with a light hand and then build up to my desired effect.
